Nothing like that, just trimming a tree. The little insidious blighters get on you then the leader blows a whistle and they all sting at once.

I was told they outlawed that specifically because too many enterprising individuals were picking stuff up for scrap cost, repairing it, and reselling it at standard used prices. I assume some legal issues got into it as well(the fine print on the scrap receipt says it's a transfer of ownership to the scrapyard in exchange for cash)-- someone likely found their old-and-scapped widget up for grabs again on the open market and raised hell on how it got there.

My cousin got a riding lawn mower, and a concrete saw among a number of other things. Both of those just needed a new spark plug and some carb tweaks..

Meh. Better me than an innocent dog or kid. It happened at this really nice park out in Campbell (maybe @Sapphireho knows the one) that I only recently found out about and I always see young kids and dogs running around the grass.

exciting night!

about an hour ago, there was what first sounded like a really large firework going off something like 2 houses away. but it had a sort of fizzly/wet pop to it. didn't think much of it, everyone's been buying fireworks right now and setting off a few choice ones every night. and my power never even flickered.

but the neighbors whole-house generator kicked on 30 seconds after. so it was an electrical company firework!

turns out a racoon crossed the top of the transformer 20 feet back from my garage. got blown right off, and is now decorating another neighbors yard.

power company fortunately just came out and replaced the fuse, so now i don't have to listen to the noise of generators(2 of 6 houses on that transformer have backujp generators) the rest of the night!

Yep, we had a loud, exciting night here also. We hosted a birthday party for our just turned 4 year old granddaughter. It was attended by her two sisters, her mom & dad, mrs humfrz and myself.

Not that many people, but the sound level was quite high. Three girls and ma-ma all screaming at once. -

Yep, my son-in-law is a quiet, soft spoken guy, and I've beaten down into a quiet, soft spoken guy, so we just take a low profile -

Knock, knock

Found some more ejected pieces that I am not sure where they came from. At this point I had about 750 miles on the engine and about a dozen pulls to redline and it ran great. Could easily have been something I did. The fun part will be tearing it down to see what is salvageable(I am betting very little) and what went wrong. Was running fine and then coolant temps started to go up a little after a lap and coming out of a turn it dropped all oil pressure. By the time I found a spot to safely get off line it started rattleing and let go.

Yeah. Think I found the egg. Looks like it ejected a rocker arm on the driver side first. Probably dropped the valve and imploded when I was trying to get it in a safe spot. Where it let go was at the top of a hill so I had to go another 100-150 yards to put it in a safe position.
