You could just Line-X the whole car like West Coast Customs did with this Camaro:

Honestly, if you want to plasti dip, do what someone said earlier. Check out Dipyourcar.com and check out their YouTube channel as well. They have a ton of info, they update a few videos all the time, and the videos themselves are really informative. If it's done properly, it can look very good.

Thats what I was thinking man, take your stock paint and make it different while protecting your paint.

also, if someone drips a little bit of oil on your plasti-dipped car, your hundred dollar dip project will be ruined.

Sounds like youve already convinced yourself that you want to do it. Just do it and tell us how it goes?

@marky if you use the clear dip it won't be as shiny as the rest of the car, it will have a somewhat satiny finish.

Will the glossifier help bring back the shine? I'm looking for an affordable way to protect the bumper too and still keep it relatively stock looking. I plan to wrap the hood, roof and trunk panels in gloss black for the protection.

Not sure if this has been covered yet...but I have noticed using Dip that the distance you hold the can from the item being sprayed will determine the texture. The texture will in turn effect the glossiness. Not sure if that helps you out, but I would experiment with can distance.

Wheels turned out good. Not real glossy but not too flat.
