Kenwood DMX820WS

My new headunit came in today. Came out pretty nice! Still need to setup the microphone and android auto but I'll do that at a later time.

I see that this unit has three camera inputs. Can you confirm how those inputs work, can you have all three images at once do you have to select which image or is it automated based on an input like going into reverse?

This is the key factor for my head unit selection. I've always been a fan of Kenwood so this is peaked my interest.

I actually purchased a camera that should be coming in today for the reverse camera. There is a camera mode that allows you to view the camera. I believe the reverse camera is automated. I'll know more later today.

Very nice, my problem with that unit is that it's made for right hand drivers . I hate how in NA you can't find a HU that fits perfectly.

A few questions:

What are those pieces to black out the AC controls + ignition switch?

What kind of connection does the backup camera use? I would like to use my stock backup camera ideally

How do you like their android auto/carplay implementation so far?

I thought I would hate it but honestly it's not that bad.

The black out pieces are made by MICIEI. Purchased it though Ali Express. I also purchased the tachometer rings.

I purchased a Natika reverse camera off of amazon. It uses an rca video cable.

I like android auto. I need to reroute the cable to the center console at some point so that I can leave my phone in the center console. When I used it this past weekend I hooked up my phone via usb type c cable and left it in the glovebox. I was hoping that it would mirror my phone but I guess this specific model does not support it. The navigation automatically comes up and works really well. Spotify also works with no issues. So no real complaints here.
