Innovate Oil Temp Gauge

Is anyone running the Innovate Oil Temp Gauge? Do you like it? How was the install and more importantly where did you connect your sensor, if it wasnt on a sandwich plate?

Not running that gauge, but FYI there's an unused oil gallery bung underneath the intake, near the throttle / AC condenser. I piped up an electronic sender for my pressure gauge here. It seems to be accurate, i'm sure it would be an ideal spot for temperature as well. It needs an adapter like this one tho.

If you are referring to the duel oil temp/pressure gauge I have it and don't care for it. It is too hard to read as it is just a colored dial on the outside of the gauge, PSI is displayed in the middle. I have checked it against my OFT so I know about what temp is where but I would prefer it just give me a number even though I am used to it now. I may swap it out for a dedicated gauge for each in the future.

I ran the wiring through the firewall with the main harness into the engine bay. Oil temp I pulled from the factory pressure sending units position and oil pressure I pulled from the position mentioned above, next to the AC compressor.

Hi and sorry if I pull an old post.
I'm trying to get as much information as possible about the Innovate double gauge (oil press+temp)
I will install the pressure sender on the main gallery plug, while I'm trying to understand where to mount the temperature sender.
I found this post and I guess it could be one of the best solution.
I'm wondering if you needed an adapter (and if so, which one?) and then.... it seems the sender is very long!
Do you have some pics?

thanks!!!!

I run the temperature sensor next to the AC compressor. There is a oil galley plug there that you can swap out for a sensor adaptor. This is an adaptor that will work, I used the OE Subaru part.

For the oil pressure, I ran it in the factory position but used a deep adaptor like this one.

I can try to get you pictures later today.

Ultimately, I’d like to take oil temp from the pan. I haven’t seen a thermocouple kit that will do that as yet. My holdup on adding gauges is deciding where to put them.

I run this setup and really like it. It's in my face and I don't have to look around for it. It does block my fuel level though.

GJP has this setup which is pretty cool but I would like to have oil pressure. His can gauges are configurable to read a bunch of different things. My problem is that I run my logger plugged into my OBD2 port to pull data for timing.

Hi NoHaveMSG, sorry to disturb you again.
I've found (maybe??) a decent adaptor here in Italy. The problem is that the sender is "hard" to plug into the NPT side. I mean, I try by hand and it's very hard to screw into the adaptor... and I'm scared to try with a wrench.
It is normal?

thanks!

No, I would verify it is NPT and not BPST thread. It should turn in smoothly for a few turns before the taper starts causing it to get tight. The female side of the adaptor should be NPT to accommodate the innovate sensor, and BPST
on the male end to screw into the engine.
