Some people just don't like change I guess.

Masking seems to be some form of ethnic solidarity or something along those lines. For those of us with chronic respiratory issues or weak immune systems it's probably a good idea to wear a mask. Might help with polen too. Even the current administration is ignoring fauci so we'll see what happens. My favorite Chinese restaurant still has the plexiglass snot fortress standing though. Helps to obscure my vision so the fry vats don't look so filthy.

I've been wearing my masks less and less. Ideally the people who are higher risk are up to date with their shots if possible.

I usually only wear mine in tight quarters like grocery store aisles. But even that, I've been to target a few times recently and didn't put my mask on a single time.

I did see someone walk out with a @humfrz style gas mask though.

I haven't masked up recently other than where it was still required (airports and planes), which is now longer required here as of Oct 1.

My dentist still recommends it, but doesn't require it.

I'd guess 3/4 of restaurants I've been to have removed all of their barriers, and maybe half of servers wear masks still.

Was at a wedding a few weeks ago, and had a cousin there that is a major germaphobe, so they were wearing an N95 and gloves the whole time. Then the week following the wedding about half the guests came down with it, she didn't. Half the people in my limo got it, but I managed to avoid it somehow. My infection from May + vaccinations presumably left me with pretty good immunity.

Kinda humming and hawing over this bivalent booster. Both my 70+ parents got it which is good, but I'm still undecided for myself. Apparently the Canadian one is based around BA.1, not the more recent omicron variants so I'm not really sure it's worth it.

I still wear a mask when I go out to public places. I find it soaks up the drool that would normally drip off my chin -

i dunno, most humans are quite filthy and disgusting. remember, the government had to pass a law to require signs to remind employees that after they destroy a toilet from their spoiled taco bell lunch, to wash their hands before going back to making people's salads on the assembly line...

more than once, i've seen gas station attendants eating their indian food with cupped fingers. i'll use their employee-only bathroom while i'm there, and it won't have any toilet paper or soap. remember who touches your drink, your chips, and m&m's to scan them before you walk out...

Well, I've been feeling quite fatigued since getting my flu shot and covid booster shot this week.

I still wounder why I felt fatigued last week.

And why I will most likely feel fatigued next week.

So weird! Have you ever been exposed to any toxic chemicals?

There is the (strong?) theory that one needs exposure to muck as a child to develop a robust immune system. I think this makes sense.
These pics are from Udaipur, India taken in Oct 2010. People, mostly children, would swim in this lake. If we went for a small boat ride I was so worried about getting splashed.

It's good to eat some dirt now and then.
