Just got my booster along with the flu vaccine. In for a feverish weekend. Yay.

No different than any other disease. There are treatments for polio even though there is also a vaccine.
I believe the pill is a prophylactic

Well, that reminds me of decisions I had to make as a young man. Pill or prophylactic.

Pfizer? Seems like people who previously had 2 doses of Moderna and got it for their booster don't have as much side effects. But that's purely anecdote.

yeah well I watched her go through 2 shots and now this booster and I think I’d rather get covid and have immunity than go through these fuck*in shots.. She’s in awesome shape so not a big risk type of person. The thing is she can still get it and transmit it so it’s just difficult for me to find the value in all of this.

Wish I could find where I read this, but I recall reading that response to the vaccine islikelyamild version of how you'd respond to the real virus. But. Could be bunk. But there's the chance she'd be far worse off.
My arm hurts and I'm run down today. A friend had a high fever and nasty muscle aces (described as "my neck is on fire") all 3 shots of moderna.

Worst case scenario, your wife will do better than having no vaccine, if she catches.

It's very individual. I had almost no side effects to the Pfizer vaccine (up through the booster). My daughter in law had the Moderna one and it knocked her out of commission for a day each time.

That kind of sounds defeatist (I guess that's the way to describe it). If I stayed home all the time I'd probably never catch a cold, which has definitely given me the same symptoms in the past, and typically for longer than a day.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
