Got me thinking

Got me thinking, 85% of the mileage on mine has been completely wasteful. Stuff like 5000 kms around the Cabot trail. 6000 km in various FT86Ottawa cruises with 20+ like minded people, hooning around the backroads, needless trips to the store and site seeing excursions with no real purpose. I try to bring to get that up to 90% by years end. Tail of the dragon this summer.

PS. Would never take public transit. Sh$$ show where I live.

Most interesting part of the posted videos is about the test bench engine failure and the delay it caused. It is mentioned on the 2nd video.

It seems like the piston head that was made by STI was defective or that they didn't properly balance the crank or something to account for the lighter mass, so it was replaced with the stock cast piston. This might be a scenario that would only show itself at the sustained high rpms of their dyno test where a resonating harmonic oscillation led to failure or something.
