Glad your stomach is feeling better. So, now you are going to toss a bunch of day old Chevron station sushi into it? -

Yep, according to MY google, the average price of a new car in the US in 1970 was $3,543. I paid $2,600 for my 1970 MGB.

In 2006, the average price of a new car in the US was $23,629 and I paid about $22,000 for my Miata.

So, @Tcoat , my purchases were relatively economical. In the case of the MG, we didn't have kids, in case of the Miata, the kids were grown and away from home, so therefore, both purchases (two seaters) were practical.

That is what I sound like normally. I do the helium thing and only dogs can hear me.

individually, little kids doing mostly harmless tricks is fun. but getting a group of them to do anything is a riot!

my 3 year old nephew, whenever he gets tired can be easily coaxed into running around screaming the chorus line of the country song "knocking boots"

but if he's not tired, he'll scold me and repeat what his mama tells him that it's not right to say.

a powerful statement. typically followed by powerful failure. i believe this is a level 9 hex. an example of a level 10 hex is the word "easy" added to any to-do project!

The west coast is really bad about popular vehicles. My older son wanted the new Raptor when released. He went to the Ford dealers in the Portland area and was told to give them 6 to 10 grand and be happy to take whatever they had coming in and then pay sticker when it got there. I went to our local Wisconsin dealer (farm area)and he apologized all over the place that he would have to pay sticker. He said that he had to do that as he only had so many allocated and could sell his allocation to an other dealer. He also said he would not sell over sticker because if his costumers found out he was charging more they would go elsewhere. Son ordered what he wanted, the dealer got him a jacket, hat, floor mats crystal coat and free service for two years.
Truck came in and we had a fun road trip.
Same thing happened two years later when he wanted a Focus RS.
Greedy dealers, the kick was he was already a good customer at one of the Ford dealerships in the Portland area. Go figure. I got two road trips out of the deal.

lol... It's a sad day when they eventually grow out of that wonderful innocence. Pure love.

One Christmas years ago my young grandsons and I were shelling walnuts on the coffee table. One of them had the idea of cracking it against the table. I came up with a rule and had them proudly recite it for as long as I could. "What's the coffee table rule?"

"We don't bang our nuts on the coffee table!"

Got some mileage out of that one.
