You give up too much droop travel for 2" rear extended hat.

At STX ride heights, it's not needed

Alright, got the car together and ran my first event. So here is my starting point....

2016 Scion FRS
- ProParts Megan Racing coilovers - using Megan camber plates and front end links
- 400/400 springs
- Eibach 25.4mm hollow front sway bar (leftover from SSC set up), set on soft
- Mann rear bar (started middle setting)
- Racer X rear end links
- SPC rear arms with DIFtech bushings
- JDL 4-2-1 EL header
- JDL OP/FP combo
- Invidia Q300 catback
- Perrin inlet tube
- Xero Limit Ecutek tune
- Whiteline transmission insert
- Whiteline subframe bushings
- 17x9 RPF1's +35 offset
- 245/40/17 A052's

Coming from SSC, I was absolutely blown away by how capable the car seemed.

Gonna run Dixie and Charlotte, then re-align the car (massive left to right max camber variance and I can't get the camber I want on the pass side, so I need to look at shifting the front subframe), maybe raise the car a bit, get a lightweight battery in the car when the tune is fully sorted, probably re-order the Karcepts bar for the front of the car (long story), and buy a 2nd set of wheels/rains. Also debating a Giken, though likely not this year.

I'm trending away from it.

I wanted to build around one. After driving the car, I'm having second thoughts.

edit: I think I'd want one on Rivals. I'm not sure it wouldn't unnecessarily complicate getting the balance I want after my first impression of the Yoks.

The lots in this area are garbage but I ran the yokos for the first time yesterday on a cold (but sunny) day. Pretty impressed. I've never been a fan of re71s and much prefer the rival, but they really felt great. Oregon Region SCCA is reasonably competitive and I did better than usual (though most of that is course dependency and, again, the lot we run in is crap).

Only changes for this year are new clutch, karcepts front bar and the a052s.

What difference does the OS Giken make asides from how it puts down power? Does it change the car behavior when you lift off as well? It sounds like it makes quite a difference for it to work with a 5k/9k combo or that a 5k/9k requires it to work.

Torsen OE vs Giken Clutch Plate.

So yes, depending on setup you’ll either have static or ramp lockup on deceleration and depending on ramps a different acceleration lock

On undulating lots like we have here in the NW, I much prefer the clutch type. It works in a linear and predictable fashion, whereas the Torsen can get 'confused' and be harder to predict.

I don't think it's vital, by any means, but it's definitely my preference.

My primary local lot (Bristol) is really bumpy and has a lot of camber change. Car exhibited all kinds of weirdness in SSC trim (computer interference, lifting a rear wheel, etc) there.

It is only one event and one course, but car seems a lot better about that stuff in STX trim.

I think most people find an OSG car to be a lot tighter on corner entry and, of course, corner exit. One of my (many) weaknesses is getting too amped up and too aggressive on exit, so I like how the OSG lets you get away more of that.

...but the Yoks seem to be better than past tires at powering down, so my first impression is that the OSG will be of less benefit than maybe in the past.

Torsen allows you to get away with bad driving habits on entry. OSG will punish you for it.

On exit it's the opposite.

Yoks let you get away with everything, blending bad inputs is stupid easy.

For covered adjustable sway bar links what would u guys recommend?

Whiteline seems like a mixed bag on here but I've never had a problem and I just pulled my 3 year old set off and they're still fine.

The KLC180-195 are the version I ran which are shorter than the ones they spec for the 86.

I'm trying to sell the bar + links together or else I'd offer to sell the links separately.

i just installed the perrin and 2 weekends ago. had 0 problem with it fitting and whatnot
