High pitched squeal only when braking only with a winter wheel
One would think that my brake pads are in need of a replacement , but the squealing never happened with my stock wheels.
The winter wheel set up is the same specs as the oem wheel and tire. One notable oddity is that I had to reuse an oem lug nut because one of the aftermarket lugnuts looked deformed from from the package. Any tips are appreciated, thank you. |

Squealing .. if as in brakes squeal .. my guess is due lower overall limit, and some real winter tires having (reasonable, but) less grip on tarmac (for gaining most grip on snow/ice), it's simply harder to bed brake pads properly, as braking always is lighter, brake pads/rotors never get upto temps, bedded layer gradually wears off and squeal returns.

Thanks for replying,
So you're saying its because of a colder temperature and me lightly braking keeps the brake system from warming up? I can't seem to understand the correlation between the tires and brakes affecting each other from your statement. |

I don't see how there's a correlation at all, unless someone bent your dust shield when putting the winters on, or if there's a rock stuck in there. |

Yeah me neither. Gonna be real I'll have to google what a dirt shield is, but nevertheless there's no squealing sounds when the stock wheels are on.
I appreciate the insights though! |
