Wow no cover over the exhaust side. Has anyone done any temp testing of that intake pipe?

My avo turbo has an itty bitty shield on the exhaust side. When the turbo is place down there, heat is not the biggest issue (compared to top front mounts)

hmmm, i hope you comment the same way about the FB, FA20, etc kits as well that run the IC pipe over the hotside of the turbo and inches for the downpipe. The P&L kit is the only top mounted turbo kit to run their pipe over the coldside. it has the most clearance from the hottest sections than any other kit.

We have a DEI turbine blanket included with all of our full turbo kits, and definitely suggest using one. Usually we will leave them off while breaking in an engine or right after turbo kit installation so that we can be sure none of the turbo oil lines are leaking. I assume that is what @PrimeMotoring has done here.

As far as temperatures go, testing was done during the development of our kit, and ultimately dictated the routing of our intercooler piping. Some of our competitors kits will use piping that routes directly over the turbine housing and downpipe, which we found to have unacceptable intake air temps even with ceramic coating and a blanket.

Read closely. I was talking about the cover. Please be less defensive next time

Just saying the cover or not, these kits are much better in terms of design for intake temp compared to the others on the market.

P&L Stage 1 Turbo FRS at the 1/2 mile event at Bult Field this weekend. Unfortunately we'll need to work out a few bugs in the fuel system but overall a great showing!

Are there still any active members running this kit in the chicagoland area?

I'm in wheaton/winfield and wondering if anyone would let me check out their car, I have no problem driving pretty much anywhere between rockford and joliet. I'm currently NA on E85 but will probably go back to 93 if i go with the kit as 300whp is all i'm looking for(easy to say now lol)

This is the only thing killing me. I am local to them, but was going to go JRSC and when I look at this, I just change my mind. Mmmaaaannnnn this is getting harder for me to choose. But I don't need that much power. I am mostly tracking the car, might do a few 1/4 passes but mostly tracking.

You cant go wrong with this kit. I am an owner of one. I made 460ish whp dynojet on it on E85 and beat the piss out of the car for 12k miles with no issues, now going with a built motor and a 6466. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not nice to my car at all. If you want to make good power with good spool on a street setup. Thumbs up for the p&l kit
