I had an '84 El Camino with a 350 small block, and I could get all 8 spark plugs changed in an hour. It had some Hooker headers on it, and those slowed me down a bit, but still, an hour.

Yep, they used to put them right on top. Unscrew one wing nut, take off the lid, take out the air filter, blow the dead grasshoppers out of the pan, bang the air filter on the pavement, hold it up to the light, say "hey, it's good for a few more miles", put it back together. A 30 second job.

even better, flip the lid, and let the motor roar!

my dad showed me that with his silverado when i was 8.

he also ran that silverado with a hole in the exhaust for 2 years because it sounded like glasspacks.

I am running M50 which is one step colder. M40 is one step hotter, and M45 is oem heat.

M40 is hotter. I use one step colder plugs because I spend all my driving in the higher rpms. I need the extra protection benefit from the plug.
