I'll fill up tonight and check again. Gotta keep ECUtek and the laptop in the car more often I guess.

Also curious about this. I've noticed during cold mornings that I would get similar "surging" at low speeds/city driving, which happened to me while stock anyway, but seems a little bit more pronounced now with the SC.

For fits and shiggles, I took a few logs

highway cruising
http://datazap.me/u/bigfatflip/15120...g?log=0&data=7

3rd gear pull
http://datazap.me/u/bigfatflip/15120...l?log=0&data=7

note that I had about 1/4 tank with this and did not feel anything weird.

The car is quick. It just doesnt feel quick in a straight line.

The brilliance of the kit is in hitting the corners and modulating speed. The kits power, and for lack of better words, control of engine speed, becomes a more sensationally visceral experience in both throttle depression and lift, in the context of actually driving the car.

Honestly, I feel short-sighted for testing acceleration in a straight line.

I thought I needed more than CARB tune. I don't. There's more car now than I have driver skill.

I just took a quick look at your logs at cruise everything looks fine it stacking up just like it should at least on my cell phone view.

On your 3rd gear map you did have 2 degrees of timing pulled when you first started to make your pull. Around 2030 rpms it starts to pull timing 2 degrees to around 2450 or so rpm nothing major about that your initial was only 1.5 degrees and dropped to-.5. Knock learn was right there with it and the fuel looked good all the way. Edit: based on a carb tune, ( the "c" in carb definitely means conservative) By no means am I a expert so JMO

Did you have it floored or just 60 to 70% wide open? It never showed close to 100% TPS or TPA....

do feel short-sighted all the way through the pull? Or just the bottom initial pull? Will you elaborate?
The reason I ask is data logs are showing MAP at 165 KPA (23.9 psi) AT only 62%TP and 5952 rpm.
23.9psi-14.7psi atmosphere-9.2psi boost level if I'm correct
It would be interesting to compare a log file from your car. @100% TP
I would hope that at 9psi of boost at 62% throttle if Rolled on the gas it would plant me firmly in the seat.

I think he means that just looking at the straight-line acceleration performance of the edelbrock kit doesn't tell the whole story nor describe the whole driving experience with the kit.

I can agree with that, it would be nice to know if this kit has the ability to hold you firmly in the seat going straight as well as the suspension does through the corners. I love that feeling of a long cambered off ramp sucking you into the seat as you accelerate around it and exit to the highway. Of course maintaining the legal speed limit

I get to drive a friend of mine's next week and I plan to give my unbiased assessment of it. I just hope it's not a total shock and let down.

power is not strictly a measure of boost...

and this isn't enough for 550Bhp surely? more like 400 to 420? and thats not taking into account how much poke is required to turn one of these at that ratio

happy to be corrected tho'
BTW at 20 PSI the twin charged down in Aussie was making 530 to the wheels...

It's about the amount of air you get into the engine...

You can't hit 100% throttle position.

I would love to see low 13's and high 12's with this kit, but I doubt that happens. Lets see some real 1/4 times and not bench race the kit.

Those who have installed, where did you get the Edelbrock calibration file from? The instructions refer to a flash drive to copy calibration files from, but there is no flash drive, just a DES stick for the license. Several compatible calibration files can be found after updating the app but they all have random names and none are obviously named to be from Edelbrock. I asked Edelbrock but they are offline for the holidays...

I have a Stalker ATS II, and intend to measure before/after, but I need a couple weeks to get installed/dyno'd/etc, patience.

e-mail calibration (at) edelbrock (dot) com with your dongle ID, name, car model year, and transmission.
