Which one?

Active pickup one or other one? I love the pot belly one. Has rich les paul sound, but heavy. The black one has a fast neck and thin, so good for light shred. Broke my wrist, so barely getting back to playing.

They are Strats it is not. It was something to do with the coating they used. The new ones don't do it since they put an inhibiter in the varnish. Believe it or not the yellowed ones are more sought after and the last thing I want to do is "fix" it.

I think it was because old Gibson's had some sort of lacquered paint vs the poly that is used today.

Schecter Blackjack C8

A LOT of other music gear.

Nice guitars. I've always wanted a 7 string to play periphery and tesseract's stuff but never got around to it. I was look into Agile 7 strings, their guitars are so nice and surprisingly inexpensive compared to the build quality they put out. Slap a couple BKP in them and you're rolling on a nice beefy tone.

Also for anyone looking into guitars, check amazon before anything else.

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00NAVUG0A/...42KT8RYRJA9W1E

They've got some amazing deals from what I've been seeing.

Most likely, All I ever found on the subject was they started using an "additive" in 2003. Could very well have totally changed since then as I do not really follow the tech.

I am very indecisive. Those are probably my 20th pair of pick ups for this guitar. Im always chasing after the "perfect" sound like a damn drug addict. I like these tho. These have a nice growl to them. Not too shabby for some generic Guitar Fetish pick ups.

This is exactly it.

The paints and finishes we have today outlast the old skool lacquered paint used back then by 100 fold, but each have their benefits still. Today mostly urethane, polyurethane, and cellulose based paints are used.

Many purists say that the old skool lacquered paint is a key contributor to achieving the tone that those guitars produce.

Fuck if I know/care tho.

Put any guitar in my hands and ill play it.

I think these are supposed to be imitation Pearly Gates. Im not sure those. I love love the way they sound tho.

In my opinion, they sound WAAAAY more authetic to Randy Rhoads tone(when he was with Ozzy) compared to the factory pick ups.
