Wheel Directory: Volk Racing TE37 17x9.5 +40
I've been patiently waiting for these wheels since its release at TAS 2013. I promptly placed an order in February after purchasing my Tein SRC in hopes of receiving it soon. Upon placing the order, my sales rep (I will start referring the rep as my friend. He really is a great one.) told me that the ETA for the wheels will be late April to early May. With great excitement comes with great anxiety, it became harder and harder for me to wait for these babies. Few days ago on Wednesday morning, my friend had sent me a text message with the following message, "your wheel is here." Simple, yet strong phrase. This same phrase got me burst with joy and excitement. At this point, I had promptly set an appointment to pick up the wheels in the same afternoon. In the mean while, I visited the trusty online tire store Tire Rack and placed an order of the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11A. No time was wasted. Upon my arrival, my friend had greeted me and told me that he had a surprise in the box. Now, I'd like to explain something before I go on further. Although some of the variants of these wheels did, I always knew that these particular lines of wheels were never manufactured with "concavity" in them in high offsets. At first when I opened the box, I had no idea what I supposed to be surprised about because my excitement and anxiety level was already through the roof. Then my friend told me to look at its spoke designs. As soon as he said the word "spoke", it immediately hit me in my face. I was overthrown by the joy, the happiness, and the uncontrollable excitement. The wheels were CONCAVE. For the next few minutes, the adrenaline were rushing through my veins from the head to toe, and needless to say, I could not control my self, but to giggle like a little school girl. Yes, I said it.... a school girl. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you one of the first sets of TE37RT in the States. This shot was taken at the time of delivery. Even while I was man handling my iPhone 5 for the photo duty, I could not stop the giggling madness. This shot shows the tires already mounted on the wheels. Although this happened yesterday late afternoon, I have already installed the wheels and conducted a short but robust test drive with them, but unfortunately, it was too dark for me to take a decent photo of the car. So here they are. A tease thread. I thank you for reading this lengthy and pointless thread, and I promise you that I will have some decent photos up as soon as possible. Again, I appreciate everyone for spending the time to read this. Alan Last edited by DarrenDriven; 05-12-2014 at 03:17 PM. |

Mind how you got four tires mounted on wheels to fit in the car without stacking? I can't get two to fit side by side in the trunk (rear seats folded down)? Pictures would be great, thanks.

As promised, I took some clearer daytime photos today, and here they are. Took these after I changed the engine oil, filter, transmission fluid, and diff fluid.

Sick wheels. Do you notice your speedo being slightly off with 17 wheels and 40 tires? (Stock is 17 and 45)

Down here, we have Mackin' Industries importing Rays wheels exclusively so we get great price compared to importing them independently and pay some hefty tariff. TE37 has always been my favorite wheels and I promised to get a set for BRZ when I purchased this car.

Thank you, Gem. Without your help, I wouldn't have been driving this car at all. All thanks to you! |

As in actually clean it? They're clean last I checked this morning... unless you mean by putting on clear corners... then I'd have to say no to that. Not a big fan of the currently available JDM side markers... I'll be working on something else soon.

Yeah, I mean clear markers. The little orange just take away the focus of those red rims. Perhaps a smoked one? Whatever you are doing, that orange stock marker is distracting IMO.

I agree. Although I'd like to jump on a JDM clear, I'm not a fan of their quality nor output. I'm working to get a custom piece done soon. Either that, or I'm gonna just shave it all together.
