CEL After PERRIN Crank Pully Install

Hello,

Can someone tell me how to reset my CEL ? I installed a PERRIN Crank Pully and my check engine light came on. I checked to make sure I connected intake plug and it was all good. The car is running fine with no problems.

Thanks for the help !

I don't think there's a way to do it without interfacing with the OBD2. If you don't have this, you could always run over to Pep Boys or some other shop and just have them pull the code and reset it for you.

I think disconnecting the battery won't help either as the CEL persists through a battery disconnect?

You should go to autozone or pep boys and at least see what the code is. Could be something serious. Pulling the negative terminal on the battery then waiting about 5m should clear the light. The cel will still be stored though.

As others have said... pull the code... could be totally unrelated either way... it only takes a few minutes to pull it and know for sure. Blindly resting check engine lights is a very bad practice.

Here are the code that were pulled at autozone. P0113 and P0102. When I started the car the CEL was gone . Hope I'm all good.

Make sure your MAF is plugged in tightly.

yeah, those are both maf codes.. Did you happen to try to crank the car before you plugged the maf back in?

The second time I installed a crank pulley on a BRZ the CEL came on.

It was the intake. I didn't push it in far enough when reconnecting it to the inlet at the front of the engine bay where it connects in front of the airbox.

actually, you can try to reset the CEL light by disconnect the battary, wait for a few min then reconnect.

its throwing the CEL light because it thinks the engine is accelerating RPM under the same input condition.

it should reset the RAM memory store within your ECU for idel condition.

also when you turn on the car after reconnecting your battary, let the car sit at idel for a while. your car will first idel at 1K rpm, it will then slowly drop down to around 650
I did a writeup on this a while back with both light flywheel and light pully.
