HKS Hipermax S

HKS just presented their new coilover (I obviously bought mine just a few months ago...).

https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/produ...x/s/index.html

Interesting update over the Hipermax IV GT 20 Spec: black and no more gold, more refined camber plate (with laser etching instead of printing); rear shocks seems to be the same, same as 5k springs.
The most interesting things are the longer and softer bumpstops (same as Spec A versions, more progressive) and a new double valving system as the Ohlins (slow and fast movements), toghether obviously with different setting (stiffer on slow movements and softer on faster).

So it seems that they have listened to what people outside of Japan have always asked for.

Since the roads are so good there, the shocks cater mostly to their impeccable tarmac and not the cobblestone surface some of us have.

They mention that each click will provide significant changes in the perception of the coilover behaviour. And with dual valving system they are aiming to give comfort at low speed and less jarring at high speed bumps.

Now we need someone to give us some actual feedback

Any volunteers who have ordered the kit already?

I'm still holding out for CSG Tein Flex A with hydraulic bump stops. As I still wait for my HKS supercharger, not bashing. I'm just a fan of hydraulic bump stop tech over urethane.

I actually want to purchase these, but haven't found a place to buy them. They aren't on Kamispeed, Japan Parts, or FT86SpeedFactory yet.

Racecomp support>HKS support

RCE is awesome to deal with.

Exactly...I had considered them (the old version) but then I chose another brand because of lack of support, they’re probably a very good quality coilovers but what if you have a problem and need assistance? At least here in Europe Bilstein, Kw, Ohlins, Jrz and Intrax provide you a better support than HKS, maybe in Japan is another story...I think if you’re in the States RCE provides you the best support for this platform, and I’m not sponsored just honest

Alright, Go with my gut. Get ready for an order Racecomp. As soon as my wife stops worrying about spending $1800 for coils and supporting mods.

You will love the SS-1s for sure. Support is everything. It also helps that they ride really well with a wide range of height adjustments. Tien flex A's by csg are also great if you can wait or catch them in stock.

I'm curious too... Anyway I'm happy with Hipermax IV GT 20 Spec, stock settings is almost the same as PP dampers on potholes, they work fine with italian roads.
You just have to pay attention to deeper ones, but I'd say that it's most related to camber plates...
