Took me a minute to get back into flat-4 mode. Then, once I remembered that it's normal for it to sound like a sewing machine, ...

Honda only all my life till a moment of infatuation and my downfall.

First I fell in love with my brothers BRZ after an 18hr dash from Montreal to Kitchener & back with him; we seem to have developed a deep desire thru the years for what the other has…

I stalled out 2X trying to do U turns … Im the best at finding dead ends!

45 yrs driving manual & I can still do this shit, which was a refreshing laugh.

A Major test to see if I was still awake confirmed my wanting one. At 1 AM as some nut job of a critter decided NOW was a good time to cross the 401 on our return around Cornwall… Did not crash!

The avoidance manoeuvre woke up the other occupant pretty quickly, he confirmed that it was a raccoon staring at us in the other lane gleaming you missed me! I acknowledged lots of dash lights came on and questioned him if I should have just hit it…

Got out of the car after this marathon and no pains were observed contrary to my usual roll out in my other car in semi rigamortus after just a few hrs.

Took me 3 years to get that Idea I don’t need another car and go WTF why not!

I like driving it so much I even let Prius’s and Yaris’s pass me on the highway so I can enjoy the ride a bit longer. To get over that unhealthy feeling I like to go off on secondary roads to play. Did a crazy 2 month xcountry trip with her last summer and that just confirmed I did the right choice.

… I sit in my garage with a beer sometimes and just look at her curves, I have not told my shrink yet that I think im in love with my car…

When I supercharged mine, and took it into the mountains. Had to remove the supercharger to do the valve spring recall and never put it back on (sold it). It was nice while it lasted. But the whole recall experience soured me on the car.

The moment I sat in it over the cab of the transport truck holding the brakes while the driver rigged a winch to get it over the hump, down the ramp, and off the truck.

Then again, after getting it home and determining the damage was less than I assumed from the auction pictures.

And again, a couple months later when I had it running and drifted it slaloming between the trees in my backyard.

Yet again, when it was finally road registered and I took it on what was supposed to be a 30 minute drive to pickup parts that turned into a 3 hour backcountry cruise I enjoyed every minute of, despite hating the droning exhaust that came on the car.

Etc.....

I could go on, but honestly no moment is the one moment. I hope someday to look back on the series of experiences with fondness and know that I loved my time with this car, but I do not expect there will ever be a single moment.

Forget about when you first loved it.
Do you still turn and look back at it as you walk away?

Coming from my rsx type s, it was another world of handling and response. It's been wonderful growing with it. From doing the maintenance, modding, and teaching me to be a better driver, it's been amazing. I've never had a car I've learned so much from (well, maybe my mr2 project, but that's another story). Sadly I know one day I will sell it, but it will go down as probably my favorite car I've owned so far. "Falling in love" with it wasn't so much of a love at first sight thing, but just slowly bonding with the car and living with it. I always find that Subarus have this endearing quality to them, as in great day-to-day liveability coupled with great (relatively) driving dynamics, as well as just enough character, or perhaps unrefinement, to make them feel a little bit alive. Mine's a scion, but it still has all of those qualities in spades, plus a dash of good looks. I'd say as long as you like properly driving your car, you'll fall for it and all the little edges just make it seem more human.
We are exactly on the same page as I feel the same way about my TS. I think the more I work on it and drive it, the more I will appreciate it. There is something special about being able to use all the power available, which I never quite did on my previous powerhouse.
