I have to get my 13 FRS taken in for the valve spring recall, and being not as familiar with the local dealerships I wanted to ask which ones you guys recommend for this major service.

On a couple of the valve spring recall threads folks have voiced praise for the Tustin Toyota and Longo Toyota dealerships. Right now I'm looking between the two, and not sure which dealership/service dept would be the best choice to take my car into.

Any thoughts or advice on which would be the best choice for this job

Thanks in advance.

i have never personally taken a vehicle to Longo but they do have a long history in my experience of being professional and doing good work.

Anyone know a good shop i can take in to get my head unit fixed and probably just get my oil changed? Screen randomly died while i put my car in reverse when it was suppose to pull up the back up camera screen. Head unit still is "on/off, touch screen works, and my music plays" but the screen is black....

that really sucks sorry to hear that. all dealerships are going to have good and bad techs, especially at the lube tech level. i still would much rather take my car to be worked on at Longo as opposed to many other dealerships including the Toyota dealership about 1 mile away from me.

id raise my hand if you where down in san diego hahah. i love that kit

I'll offer this as a shop in Escondido. They are in the middle of a move and more nissan/datsun specialists, but they work on nearly anything if the customer is patient and smart. You also won't find bigger Rotor heads this side of the county line, and while they work with Mazda;s, your simple bolt ons for the FRS and BRZ are safe in their hands.

They are known for top speed record in a destroked 240sx and SR20 ( i think it was an SR16 by the time they finish)

Did you get the warranty at CarMax ? Can’t you just take it back ? I bought mines from CarMax and got the 5 year warranty so I’m just curious if they would cover a spun bearing ( they should right ) ?

yeah i got the warranty at carmax... i got the 48 month, 125k miles which ever comes first warranty. frommy understanding it's basically covering powertrain. won't cover suspension [i have already checked on it due to my rear subframe getting shifted to the left just a lil] i got a used one that i haven't put on yet.but im wondering how carmax will handle a modded car or if i should just bite the bullet and tear it down and do an actual build. something that will be in my interest possibly go f/i. i was looking into the tune that i had installed and i noticed that it showed a max of 137 mph and im wondering if it started shutting down or putting limitations on things "oil pump"? or if its just a timing guide that broke or what. i know it's all about what i want and to my liking or what not. seems like i don't have enough or if any friends that have the 86 platform
