Everything else about the exhaust is stock except for the header. I have a turndown from my '08 STI that I think will probably work, just been to lazy to try it out.

This is my first year auto-xing my car. What is the purpose of spraying the tires between heats? Does the Cusco front strut bar w/ master cylinder brace meet the STX requirements? ( http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Cusc...Cylinder-Brace )

Master cylinder brace not legal. Spraying the tires is for cooling. As i have heard and @Scooby South and can some tires like the federal 595 rs-r do not work when they get above certain temps.

Every tire compound has an optimal operating range. So tires have lower temperature range (Z2), some higher (RS3, especially RS3v1). Lower heat range tires need to be cooled as they exceed that range quickly and then do not grip well.

I am running the Michelin PSS currently. Any suggestions on them? I currently only play with pressure during events, haven't sprayed them.

Tire sprayers are necessary if you run Z2s in my experience. Not once did I have to spray my RS-3 V1s though.

I have yet to need to spray my RS3 V2s, either. Single driver car, though. Hottest event I've run this year was mid 80's. Grip only got better as it got hotter.

I got the V2 RS3's to the 150/170 range on concrete a few weeks ago and they were still grippy. Anything more than that I think would have been to much. You would really have to hot lap them for that to happen.

It's that at 8am here hahaha. Even when I ran RS3s, I had to spray as a single driver.

I had to spray my v2 RS3 on concrete with two drivers. We cooked em. Fine with 1 driver though.

Im jealous of not having 100 degree autocross events where you are spraying constantly....not jealous of those same places having rain though.

It was so hot during our event at CotA, when I went out for the 4th heat I had to bleed 5 psi off of the tires after they had sat parked for 6 hours. Double driver in that heat on fresh black asphalt mandated spraying the R-S3s.

Bill- I am still thinking about this. Since the cars are twins would it be legal to put a front splitter on an FRS? Could it be interpreted as different styling package in the same model year? Thanks for anyone's thoughts on this. My initial interpretation is no, yet the two cars would in the same class with different option packages available.

without clarification, to the letter it's not allowed. Technically it's not allowed for the BRZ until the official clarification comes in. It philosophically follows the e36 clarification, but there is no clarification yet. You can mount a pretty good defense and possibly win your protest with a brz, but you'd still be better served by an official clarification by writing to the SEB.
