I wanted a spare that would clear brembos so I bought a 2004 STI space saver for $50 from ebay, redirected it via shipitto for $8 since the ebay seller didn't do international shipping. Through TNT it was about $90 or something.

Putting one on the back is not even an option for me (turbo). On the front will lengthen the braking zone but at least the car will stay facing the right way.

I have a Subaru WRX STi 17" space saver (2006) - it's never been used and it is the same height as my !8" works emotion wheels with Pirelli 235/40/ 18 PZero's. Doesn't matter where you put the spacer saver on your car as you are limited to 80Km (50 MPH). I purchased the wheel and tyre plus the bolt and ring for $100.00 from Subaru Used parts , 88 Levensdfale Road Moorabbin. To keep my boot flat I have cutout a piece of heavy duty Plyboard and added Foam rubber on the spare wheel side and my boot floor is once again pefectly flat. Also the puncture repair kit sits inside the space saver spare wheel. Problem solved.

THEN MAYBE IT'S A 2004 - Certainly doesn't look that old - tyre looks brand new. - could it be just a WRX space saver - I was told that after 2006 the wheel would not fit.

I have a 125/70/18 off an A3 Audi that fits the 86 and is the same diameter as My 245/40/18. As for putting a SS wheel on the front of a car; that’s just putting yours and other roads users lives in danger regardless of the speed Rating. 80% of braking and 100% of steering is done thru the front wheels.
