A friend who has a very valuable pinball collection once suggested I spray 3-in-one on one of my pinball machine playfields to speed up play. He was probably joking but holy shit did it ever make the game fast except I now have silicone on my automotive clearcoat, for years. Didnt affect the CC at all.

That one's a good read. If I remember correctly it took a few pages to even suss out that it was an energy drink that he poured in his tank. Internet gold I tells ya.

Hmmm. I would have done the same as you. Get it off before the UV gets to it especially if you have a clear coat. Same for suntan cream from kids hands.

Did I do any damage to the paint? It doesn't look any different from before, and there aren't any differences between the roof and the rest of the car.
Relax. You've actually done yourself a favour in a 'happy accident' kinda way.

You've thwarted the normal targeting minutia of passing neighbourhood dogs who'll not know whether to piss on your tires or your paint.

Fuck the neighbours cars - you're covered, literally and figuratively.

These things happen, I know you said you went to the nearest car wash, I assume you mean the kind where you pay and have access to a pressure washer which sprays out soaps etc. That is probably not enough, what I would do is purchase a product like Adams stripwash and give that car a through top to bottom clean or if you have it and its easier use blue dawn dish soap and clean it thoroughly before reapplying protection.
