WedsSport TC105X sizing

Howdy all. I’ve spent days searching though I’m also a bit sleep deprived with a newborn so please go easy if I’ve missed something.

I have a 2019 GT86 with the performance pack and I’m currently procrastinating over wheels, leaning towards the WedsSport tc105x. My car usage is spirited weekend driving though I'm keen to do the occasional track days in the future. Suspension wise I’m currently on the stock Sachs setup with camber bolts for now (an upgrade to RCE/Bilstein or coilovers will come later). i’m looking to remain within the legal constraints for where I live here in Sydney Australia so as much as I love the look of the 17x9 +35 with the MR face, my understanding is that these will poke outside the wheel arch/fender considerably which is a no-go.

I’m trying to decide between 17x8.5 +43 or 18x8.5 +43. The two main reasons I’m considering the 18’s is they have the FR (semi concave) face as opposed to theF (flat face) version on the 17” option and based on the WedsSport website they are listed as a fitment option (where as the 17x8.5 isn’t, that being said the 17x9 isn’t listed either though it’s been confirmed by others).

I’m keen to hear fitment confirmation from anyone else who has the PP Brembos. From what I can gather based on this either should fit under the fender with a small amount of camber (~2mm poke without at stock height ?), am I right in my understanding that I shouldn’t run into any fitment issues with the factory strut assuming I run 235 or smaller? Based on this either option would be 7.7mm closer.

I understand the recommendation here tends to be 17’s. Given the 18’s are still 1.98kg/4.7lbs lighter than the stock wheels how deleterious will it be if I got for the larger of the two wheels from a performance and ride quality perspective?

** looks like coilovers are the only option for this size/offset based on this: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68945

Love how they look. How's the front fitment? I was originally looking at this setup though concerned about the amount of poke up front being a problem down here.

I ran the TC105x 17x9 et35 on a stock suspension 2020 with -1.9 camber up front with no issues and no spacers. There was about 3mm clearance to the strut, but the wheel doesn't flex.

I got the wheels at the same time as the suspensions so never run it on stock suspension. With the original camber I think around ~ -2.something front was well within the fender. The rear slightly. some more photos. Track alignment with a lot of front camber... https://imgur.com/a/4JeyHHk https://imgur.com/a/qHhRFN2

Also a friend of mine had the 17x8.5 and ended up selling them to get the 17x9... Look wise 17x8.5 doesn't look as nice.
