Do you track your car heavily? Do you live in a city with shitty roads? I mean any wheel can bend with enough force. No wheel is indestructible.

You can’t go wrong with either though. You’re getting a quality product from very reputable brands. My advice would be to just pick which ever looks better to you lol $400 is a big difference though. Could go to your tires

Sadly there is no race tracks where I live, but we have drift track that I'll be going to in the future. Yes there is so shitty roads where I live.

Tbh I was all about the 5 spoke design from the GL 57CR until I saw the TC105N but as you said the 400$ can go into a better set of wheels.

But again if the TC105N are way more durable than the 57CR the the 400$ extra is worth it to me.

Btw what's the difference between the TC105N and TC105X.

Honestly can’t speak on the durability as I’ve never owned either.

Never drifted either, but I imagine you don’t need the grippiest/highest quality tires. However, I know they do a lot more work on the suspension of the car so just keep everything in mind when making your purchases.

I think 57CR and TC105X are going to both very durable, both are made in Japan, so the safety regulation like JWL is going to be the same. The difference is that the gramlights are cast and the tc105x are flow formed, so I believe you will get similar strengh, one just weights like approx 3.5 lbs more. The TC105x is probably the most advanced flow formed wheel, super strong and light, but not the cheapest, but great value overall.

TC105x, they made it stronger and lighter, which is hard to do with the same aluminum and wheel mfg process. If you want a set, hit me up, I will get you a smoking deal.

What's the best compromise regarding tire sizing between grip and weight for FI cars with these wheels in this specific size? I'm currently running 18x9.5 with 255 section tires, and while I love the look, I'm really starting to feel the weight affecting acceleration and ride quality, so I'm thinking about switching to this wheel in the spring. I'm planning to go FI in the future however, so I want to have a good contact patch without adding needless weight to the tire. So what do people reckon the perfect tire size for that application would be? 245? 255?

If you're going F1 I would wait and see how it feels with your existing tire combo.

You mean from the perspective of the weight difference being much less significant when there is more power available?

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the 105N's are discontinued. You can try to see if any shops still have them or perhaps someone is letting theirs go.

Yeah, it looks like they've been discontinued. I wish WedsSport would make the TC105X in silver or bronze. Just don't think the current color would look good on my Raven FRS.
