Looks like I will be going back to my original plan of a 2.5" setup:

JDL catless UEL (for more low end power and subie rumble)
JDL 2.5" overpipe
JDL 2.5" catted/resonated frontpipe
2.5" ARK DT-S exhaust or 2.5" JDL D2 exhaust

Now I just need to decide between the ARK and JDL catbacks.
Did a bit more reading and the following thread and @smudge's setup has swayed me to stick with the full 3" setup from JDL. I am hoping the JDL D2 exhaust with Magnaflow resonator will help control the drone and keep the rasp away.

Here's from above. It's difficult to see, so hopefully it won't attract too much notice.

Btw, that's what happens to your engine after just one winter.

I was able to take it out for a drive up to temperature. It sounds MUCH better. But something is hitting when I engine brake over bumps, and I think there's another part touching the chassis. So I need to get back under it and try and track down where the odd vibration are coming from. Guess I have tomorrow's evening planned.
Any update on this?

Worked fine. The hose doesn't appear to have taken any damage, and I didn't notice any rise in coolant temps.

I still wouldn't buy this particular header again. Better to get one with a more conventional primary routing. I would like to get a different one, but it would be the third header for this car and this one is working fine now that I've made the modifications. I do wonder if the proximity of the other primary to the thermostat would make it open prematurely, but I haven't had any issues getting to operating temp in the summer. No idea about the winter.

For anyone feeling they would be willing to do the same I would HIGHLY recommend chancing at least this hose with a silicone one, even if using a wrap. I don't think a conventional rubber hose would last.

I have almost that. I have a resonated Invidia front pipe, so the fitment should be the same. Other than the fitment issues I noted earlier in this thread, the OP and FP fit just fine.

You need the donut gasket in the rear. The flat flange will leak at the catback connection

Correct. You need the donut rear for it to seal with the OEM catback

Wow I just got a FedEx shipping notification for a header I ordered a week and a half ago. Amazing turn around time. I've never had an exhaust shipped out sooner than the estimated build time. I usually try to forgot about any exhaust order and hope it shows up a few months later. Well done JDL.

Thanks for the kind words! We have been building headers non stop these past few weeks and the raw ones are moving fast now!
