One thing I need to mention - with the key barrel removed you obviously need to plug the hole. This is where your ingenuity comes in.

one other thing, you should probably unplug the switch in the trunk that makes the trunk only open with your key.

^^ Just a heads up... I've accidentally had the valet switch activated in the trunk and had to use the key to open the trunk with my keyless (smart) system.

I've never used or needed a key to open the trunk on any car I've owned over the last 10 years so I doubt it'll ever be a problem.
You will regret it when you accidentally push the button inside the trunk. The only way to open the trunk is with the key if you do that.

Which button? I'm pretty sure I don't have a button inside the trunk?
Also, the seat folds flat from inside, so no problem.

There's a valet button in the trunk, next to the left wheel well. If you push it, you can no longer use the the trunk release lever, key fob trunk button and keyless entry, so you'd to use need the actual key to enter. That way you can hand off the keyfob to a valet without them getting access to stuff in your trunk.

Thanks, I've had a look - don't have that button.

Surely they could get into the trunk from inside by folding the seat flat if they wanted to?

Might be differences in trim, but I was under the impression the valet button was standard on all 86 versions.

You have to pull two straps on the back of the seat to release the latches before you can fold it, so it's "secure" if you can't get in the trunk.

Yeah I would check again if I were you. I am pretty sure its always there. Many people have had issues getting in after the button being pressed by something rolling around in the trunk.

And like rishi said. The straps must be pulled from inside the trunk. So unless the seats are already folded down you will be locked out of your trunk.

I would love to put one of these on my FR-S 10 but near as I can tell there is no way to use the stock HU as a display and I love the look of the mirror it came with, so what do I do for a viewscreen?

Removed the plastic piece as pictured above to fit the camera as well as the boot trim on the left hand side and the one panel by the left hand side door to run the wires through. Power for the camera as well as head unit reverse trigger wires are fed from the reverse light.

There are 2 wires running to the radio - trigger wire and RCA.
can you show or tell where you ran the wires from the trunk to the radio?

thanks

Thanks, ours is definitely different then. No button and no straps. You press 2 "buttons" on top of the seat on the inside to fold them flat.

I didn't take pics unfortunately. Removed the trim on the left side of the trunk as well as the plastic piece next to the front seat and ran it through there. There is a nice channel for the wires.
