Best tune for 93 octane?

I've noticed a lot of software tunes seem to be geared towards 91 octane. Where I live 93 octane is pretty easy to find though. What are some good tunes to optimize the 86 for running on 93?

Are you talking OFT? Because 93 octane tunes can be downloaded from the OFT website. ECUTek can be tuned for just about anything.

After that, really depends on what you want, plus what mods your cas has, and what your goals are.

OFT tunes are ok but they are made to work on every car. A tune is best tailored to your specific car, fuel, driving type....... The best tune will be custom tune. Shiv does offer those services for the OFT I believe.

I'm getting tuned remotely for 93 octane. My tuner has me do fairly lengthy logs on the street, 3rd gear pulls, 50% throttle from 3k-5k, 75%, etc etc, then driving home normally to see how numbers all look.

I probably go through roughly 5-6 logs if a part changes before he says it's dialed in nicely to the point where it would take 100 logs to fine tune everything which isn't worth it. I just got my Grimmspeed intake scaled and he's working on more power in the top end, 6000-7000rpm and 7000 to 7600 rpm. This is why I absolutely love Ecutek. It's tailored for my car and not off the shelf.

Sounds like you are being taken are of nice. But what you are describing can be done with any tuning option, not just Ecutek

Yes, that is true, but most people don't have that friend that's good at tuning, lol. Or in my case if you're in Texas, you get hosed on getting to see any of the good Ecutek tuners in person. There might be a couple, but you don't hear of them here on the forums and have to go by user experience. Dynotronics blew an engine in the past and they disappeared.

Your best bet here is going OFT or going with Delicious Flash n Go tunes with a few updates unless you know someone willing to work with you and do extensive street logging and they know what they are doing.

Had a buddy get his OFT last week and he's having a blast with the E85 maps and playing with different maps.

Some of us don't want an ecutek, and enjoy the challenge of tuning ourselves.

You can tune it yourself with Ecutek with the right package!

Reason I went with Ecutek is if I ever went FI in the future. Ecutek's forced induction features are outstanding.

You can tune with OFT very easily using the datalogging feature, VGI's java program, and Kode's knock correction tool. I tuned my OFH +G/S Intake setup, that originally had long term FT's in the high 9's on some buckets, down to less than 1 (.78-0.00). Within a few logs and re-scales. Making very good performance on 91 octane.

Steve99's threads are great as well, give them a shot. Going to shell out some dough and have Shiv e-tune me for catless UEL, G/S intake, and E85 for max power on the setup

Boost cut off and safety features it has. I don't know of them in absolute detail, but this is usually the reason why many people suggest Ecutek for FI and nothing less. More used by tuners around the world.
