I once saw a BRZ 2016 in LKQ which i was shocked! But mine was a Small yard who have a somewhat focus on FRS/BRZ/86 cars. Not sure just remembered there close to LAX. IF i find out the address il let ya know.

That would be great if you remember. I just bought my FRS used and it needs a few parts that are best found in a junkyard. Thanks!

Hey sorry, been really busy.
http://car-part.com/
I just looked at this site and found one randomly relatively nearby, within ~150km. Check your state, YMMV.

I confirm the cluster works on older models. Got it working yesterday! From a limited 2017 BRZ to a 2013 limited BRZ.

Has anyone attempted wiring up the new cluster AND the new steering wheel with controls?

That would require a new airbag, new clock spring, steering wheel, And repining the connector from the clock spring into the rest of th harness. Then adding the three other cables from that connector into the cluster connector. If you dont want to do that you will need to then buy a new dash harness too.

thanks for this great thread! I picked up a 2017 cluster from a part out and have been pretty excited to get it into my 2013 BRZ - I've been on the search for a new steering wheel but after reading through this thread - @geraldjust I think your kit with the printed joystick is a fantastic option! You have put an incredible amount of work into sorting this all out! Thank you!!

YEAH for ODO pretty easy i know how to program it. And il have it as a service.

For turn key cars.. not sure... since i dont have a turn key car i cant confirm. But apparently some people here say they can be programmed to the car though techstream. and if they cant then usually the dealer is a way to go about this.

Yeah i think i will offer multiple spots for people. Then they can decide were to install the buttons.
Hey geraldjust,

Just wondering is there a setting in the eeprom for the 2017 BRZ to have the G meter to work even while driving or you have to flash with the GT86 eeprom to get that to work.

Thanks.

Got my techstream today. Only issue being my windows partition on my MacBook is almost full and I can’t unzip the techstream file -_- As soon as I can get this inconvenience figured out I will be testing the Turn Key programming with an eBay techstream.

For now my best guess it that its a simple bit that tells whether to load the BRZ program or 86 program. and the rest of the settings minor like Km and C or F. If anyone had a Any of these clusters in a different market and it acts different let me know. Perhaps like the Eurospec one does something different.

At the end of the day, i can always switch the cluster to a gt86 and turn off the welcome screen.

@DustinS

Let me know how that works! some techstream "ebay" programs come fully unlocked. Even the utilities to bind the clusters to the Body control modules. Some dont either.

These are @geraldjust buttons working on a 2013 BRZ

Very happy with the results, fits like a glove and works perfectly! The buttons feel really natural in that position.

Did you say you were able to select the boot animation? I've been able to track down a cluster from a BRZ, but I have an FR-S, would you be able to select the Toyota boot animation?

If you want.. i have a 86 cluster but i want a BRZ we can always swap if your looking for one that has that white outline like the FR-S.
