a ppl from taiwan has found that there is a hole on both side can lead water into the cabin, there are pics to explain it..is it another Potential design flaw?

left side

right side

left hole

right hole

use something like SONOLASTIC NP1 to seal it

ppl said that if doesn't get sealed, it might cause bad smell in the cabin and get rusty

It's likely a pre-production model, hence why it has the heel toe accelerator pedal. I'm guessing they changed it for safety reasons. You know... Toyota being the company that had all those unintended acceleration issues, they probably want the pedals as far away from each other as possible.

Does the plug help solve with the problem? Or do I need to do more?

Yes, a Toyota dealership will have it... Just provide them with the Toyota P/N... (Likely back-ordered though)

But why they just don't install it from factory?

Are the plug a sure fix?
They don't install because they use the holes for shipping.

Went out in the garage and checked.. No grommets in the rear holes.
Drove down to the dealer and into the service bay.. Service rep says, oh they installed them on the front..
I told him what about the rear? I get a blank look.. I whip out my phone and show him the PDI page for the rear.. A tech comes out, pops in two plugs and I'm on my way.. Took ten minutes.. Best part was taking a drive to get there..
Bring on the rain!
