So fa coils are made in China/taiwan just like bc racing and also hq is located in bfe Virginia. Not exactly an area where one thinks of when it comes to import performace. Historicially and location wise any any serious company is located in the West Coast california. It's where most legit shops are and where most of the knowledge is. Not in the boondocks.

Many seem to think just cause it has custom valving and comes with a shock dyno birth sheet these are better they really are.

To me it's just another Chinese coilover. One thing they are good at is marketing.
How many of these have you ever driven on? And to what extent?

Either you're ignorant, or this post is some of that great marketing and you did this just for people to come defend them lol.

I think that's why they're so effective for people in SoCal.

I really like what he has done with his car but there is certainly a different mindset involved.

I came here to say some things, then @Tcoat said pretty much all of them. On point as always, sir. Especially the bit about German engineers being difficult to work with, though in my case it was more German businessfolks/practices. That's one of the things I don't miss about the old job. haha

One thing I will add, in reference to FA more specifically. And I will first make the disclaimer that I'm far from even moderately equipped to assess a damper's quality. Fortune Auto seems to have done an excellent job of marketing, as others have pointed out, and getting brand ambassadors out there repping them in various communities. Around here they are huge in the Subaru community, I think largely due to one well loved rep in the local community being a big fan of them. But I also see that they are doing a lot to support the track community in a big way, with contingency programs and event/series sponsorship. This goes a LONG way, especially when you aren't seeing a lot of the other suspension companies out there. Also, having localized support is a big deal too. It's on the reasons Reinharte suspension will be on my radar when I eventually get coilovers... again. lol

I have the joy of not only working with the German engineers but also the businessfolks/practices.

I dealt with the engineers on occasion, but definitely not as much as the business folks. Now I'm in tech, which has its own challenges/difficult people. But at least half the people I have to work with don't all simultaneously go on vacation for an entire month. haha

I am in awe. The phrase "If you're going to do something weird, do it well" applies here. I expected to hate it, but while I don't want one I can't help but appreciate it. Why not have fun with your daily commuter?

Now if only there was that much part support for the BMW i3 or Chevy Bolt. I love the idea of an electric commuter (and of course a dinosaur burning toy for the weekend), but the reasonably priced ones are so... spongey and tall and eggshaped. Counting down the years until we get a cool eV mod scene... I just hope everyone dresses like bladerunner.

One of their engineers came on the forum a while back and was very upfront about their product, what's there for marketing (ie 30 way adjustable), etc. It was very cool to see and things like that have helped their rep a lot imo.

You truly are the definition of total JDM brainwashed fanboy.

Fortune Auto coilovers, in my opinion, offer some of the best support and product warranty in the business.

Their coilovers come with five-year warranty and at least you know their offices are local in North America (VA and Montreal, Canada) so you have some assurance of decent customer service.

I was looking into the Fortune Auto 510 coilovers and let me say it sounds like a pretty competitive option and the flexibility of this unit (swap out springs, send back for revalving, option to purchase with Swift springs, etc) seems unmatched. Their support and backing in terms of warranty and ease of reach is just a fantastic bonus.

Very sad and ignorant way of thinking you have, sir.

And finally, for it's worth, I would rather buy locally and support our local jobs rather than nut off to some far off, distant JDM fantasy.

You can't convince me fortune cookie auto is a good brand. I'm too brain washed. I been modifying cars since 2002. My s14 was mostly made up of Japanese parts. I've been applying the same method for 20 years

Wait a second. Egypt or Wisconsin? Either way, they don't have towns, or power, or internet there. And they certainly can't build coilovers.

And I have been in the auto parts manufacturing industry since 1993. Take my word for it. Many of those Japanese parts you have used are no more "Japanese" than if they came from California.

Oh and your math sucks!
