unknown knocking/clunking sound, whatever you call it....

So, it happened couple days to last weeks ago, I can hear the knocking sound/clucking sound in front of the vehicle. It happens when going low speed, and hitting some small bump or little bit bigger bumps. No sound on the high way. So I check the front suspension today, nothing were loose, sway bar, endlinks, coilover, etc....and I have tighten it again, and the sounds still happens.

I have Tein Flex Z,
Whiteline sway bar,
Whiteline endlink,

Any ideas?

Had it. It clunk at low speed while steering. Wasted days googling for solution. Sent to dealer under warranty. Solved it in 1.5 days. They refuse to tell me what went wrong by giving a lame reply ... like something loose

How low do you have your Flex Z's adjusted? The endlinks that came with the adjustable swaybar (both whiteline) we're too long and the swaybar was bottoming out on the front LCA, even using Fortune Autos shortened endlinks I still couldn't clear the control arm :/

A few things it could be:

1) Lug nuts need to be re-torqued. I know it sounds dumb, because you'd figure you couldn't be so absentminded as to forget to retorque them, but it was what was causing the same clunking for me for a bit. lol

2) Check the stabilizer link nuts, they might also need to be tightened.

3) Could be the shock nut as @churchx mentioned

I dont think so, the knocking/clunking sound happens during low speed, and when hitting bumps. I checked top nut, it was fine.

The sound is not similar to this, but might be tho.

little bit less than 1 finger gap.
I used fortune auto before, between 1.5-2 fingers, and it was fine.

1) Checked, and re-torqued, problem still persist.
2) Checked, and re-tightened, problem still persist.

It could be coil bind. Usually happens at low speeds and when doing slow turns. Check the collars on the coils.

I'm sure I have the same sounds as you with my Bilstein B14 + Raceseng CasCam plates. Only at low speeds and it comes and goes. Usually it gets more frequent the longer I drive or the warmer the weather which hints me at bushings or ball joints. I haven't been able to pin this down, but it is definitely not the swaybar bushings or endlinks, which I originally thought it was. I can rule them out because I've disconnected the swaybars already and the sound was still there.

Yea, I checked and re-tighten everything and I am quite sure it is not the sway bar/endlinks, etc. I ll check it again, and if I still can't find the problem then I have no choice to find a mechanic =[

It's quite frustrating. I'm dying to know what it is, so please keep us updated if you find out!
