It does look more boring and I kind of like that; like a blank canvas!

I had a feeling the rear diffuser wouldn't make the final cut. I'm sure the aftermarket companies will make one. The concepts to production models always seem to lose the "cool" bits; trick spoilers, wheel setup, interior details etc.

Ehhh... it's okay.
Can someone chop this next to the other concept to compare and contrast (and also make the new one red?).

But would it really have been that hard to make a plastic version of that diffuser, it was so awesome and I'd imagine functional in some way. It doesn't have to be CF to be cool, and I don't think molding a plastic diffuser would jack up the costs to build one of these cars any.

It's not a matter of difficulty but rather a matter of efficiency, cost cutting and uniformity. I don't think it would have served any purpose other than cosmetics since the car isn't lowered, there isn't a chin spoiler and the undercarriage isn't sealed off to channel the air to the rear.

But even something cosmetic like the Mazda 3 has:

Would 'lighten' the chubby looking rear of the car.

Yeah looking at the FT-86 II tail shot is like tailing a mini-van with no kids in the back seat to make faces at -- stupidly boring.

0-62mph in 7.7 seconds
196BHP @ 7000RPM(RPM from another article)
151FT-lbs @4500RPM(RPM from another article)
2866lbs Curb weight

This might just be oft repeated rumors. I've heard similar numbers repeated over and over. That isn't that bad for this range. But if you insist on hyping your expectations more that this you will be disappointed.

The best part is that 200lbs is probably "disposable."

uuugggghhh... iono bout u guys, but i hate the headlights on the "new" ft-86 ii. i hate the fact that the eyes droop down, sorta like the gen coupe, rather than swooping up in the original concept, which makes the eyes look freakin evil rather than stupid and goofy lookin as it does now.

*sigh... i'm even more sad since these headlights on these pics seem to be consistent with the teaser pic, which makes me fear that the headlights will indeed look like that.

i'll jus have to hope for the best until the geneva motor show...
