I had #9248. It was a fucked up rust bucket by the time I got to it but the original engine was in solid shape. Drove it for 11 years before crashing it.

That's a model that's close to my heart, and here's why below...not quite the same (a 280) but this is the car I sold to buy the BRZ back in 2013.

Man how could you sell that!

I remember I got the stacks somewhere, just don't remember where...

I had it for 28 years...and you know how expensive it can get to maintain a daily driver that's 28 years old. There's ALWAYS something that needs replacing. Lot's of great times in that Z. Sold it to a young guy who really wanted an S30, and he was happy to find one that wasn't a rust bucket.

Time to get serious!

And you don't have a problem until you have a couple of hundred kits and don't even know where you have stored them all. I will need to live to 120 to build all I have and I still buy more all the time.

I'm too lazy to set up and clean up an airbrush system, even though I know I can probably get a way better finish and color options with one. I had already gotten my Tamiya spray cans for all but the EVO 6, which I wasn't intending on getting. I think I'm better off getting a curio cabinet of some sort so that I actually have a place to put the models in.

HAHA, considering I said I was just going to get the R32, R33, R34, and the Hako; then snow balled into getting the Crown Athlete and telling myself, "yeah, this is it," but then ordered the JZX100 and S15 not too long after, I can't really trust myself. LOL. Especially since I ordered some wheels and didn't have any model in mind for it, which then led me to get the EVO 6 just so that I had a model for the wheels to go on.

uuuuhhh, out of curiosity, got any kits in your collection you want to get rid of? LOL

I doubt I have anything you would want. I have built models on almost every flat surface in the house now. The biggest issue is I like larger scale aircraft and they take up a pile of space. I tend to give more away than I keep these days.

ah, tis true. I'm not really into aircrafts (well, buying/building them). I do appreciate looking at people's build of them cuz I can't ever do them myself. haha. Not gonna lie, thought about getting the 1/35 Stealth Fighter Jet (yeah, I'm not good at remember plane models) with the Hummer that Tamiya had on sale for $50 over Superbowl Sunday. And that's cuz it's just linear body panels and flat black. HAHA

Those are actually both rather nice kits for their age. That is a spectacular deal.

Weathering with Future Acrylic floor finish.
First base coat.
Then tinted floor finish in gloss
Then flat coat.
Keeping in mind the lighting and camera exaggerates the effect and it is much more subtle in real life.

Is this the same plane that has the radial engine? Or are you working on multiple kits at the same time?

Woops, 1/48th scale. I guess they still have it on sale:

https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/148-a...ility-vehicle/

Although, I like the Zero Fighters that they had on sale (no longer on sale). I think I like the older planes more since they have more intricate details, which is also the reason why I wouldn't want to build one.

That wasn't on sale, but man, that's cool.

When I can find them at a decent price I am ordering a 1/350 scale I-400 aircraft carrier sub kit https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/1350-...bmarine-i-400/ and a 1/48 Seiran http://www.hyperscale.com/2013/galleries/m6a148rs_1.htm

Going to then scratch build the hanger entrance and portion of the deck and catapult and have the Seiran all folded up being pulled out and prepped for launch to show with the full sub.
