Theres currently 146,311,000 registered voters in the us. Those are the people that are over 18 and are capable of doing the lottery.

That would be 8.20 Dollars... Now, stay with me, how often is the lottery played? Let me rephrase that. How often do they choose winners? Every week? Every month? Every year? whatever it is means every law abiding registered voter could get 8.20 dollars every lottery.

That's why I put 'non-frivolous' shit. Buy yo' momma a house, buy gramma a house, buy uncle joe a house and on and on and $10 mil is gone in a snap, toss another $10m to charity, $30k for a buddy to buy a new car here, clearing your cousins $5k credit card debt there. Most don't go broke on private jets and fancy cars, even a moron can take a wakeup call when they realize they blew half their money in a few years, it's the nickle and diming once everybody knows, it's the shady accountant and leeches coming out of the woodwork.

Basic division, set a humble budget/salary to pay yourself, a non-shady accountant and lawyer, learn to say no and keep living life like normal. I was just thinking about it, I'd probably take a month off work and come back for at least a little while, maybe finangle reduced hours...

Edit 2: If it takes 2 minutes to write a check and you write 200 checks a day (so a bit less than 7 hours of work each day) it would take you 4,480 years to write a check to every person in the United States of America. And no vacation time or weekends off.

When there's high jackpot lotteries I view the $1-2 ticket as a "dreamer tax". Get a solid 1-4 hours dreaming about what I'd buy if I had that kind of money, win nothing, and then move on with life. For the $529 million that I would get in Washington (after taxes and lump-sum reduction) I've got a pretty specific list of where my money would go that would sustain myself and my family for the next 200 years while still giving me plenty of money to live a stupidly opulent lifestyle.
