Premium Fuel

Due to its high compression ratio the car will require premium fuel. If you had to use regular couldn't you just boost octane rating by using a methanol injection kit? If its possible then I don't know why people are complaining about its requirement for premium.

Installing a methanol injection kit seems like more trouble then just pressing the premium button at the pump.

i know theres another thread about this but i just had a thought, where i live here in california the highest octane is 91.. and some places go up to 93 and 91 is considered the plus version of gas.. so you could get away with just pumping 91

No, really. If you buy a ~$24k car with plans to turbocharge it, you better be prepared to pay the increased fuel cost. Or run E85.

Srsly. He's more than willing to spend $24k+ on a brand new car and $5k+ on a turbo kit for it, but he's balking at paying ~$0.30 more per gallon?

Exactly. Which amounts to what, $3 extra per fill-up? That is like an extra $60-80 a year. lol Chump change.

I completely agree, but for me it'll be an extra $400 a year, since I drive upwards of 40k a year. I still think it isn't a large price to pay, just saying it could equate to a lot more than $60-$80 a year lol I think I'm certainly on the high side of this cost and I'm still not complaining so I don't see how anyone else can.

here in canada the, we have 94 octane, but its really rare, the premium that every gaz station has is 91 octane. i dont know why we cant have higher octane like europe or other place in the world exept north america.

im in paphos cyprus right now and the normal unleaded is 95 and premium is 98. i wish i can have 98 octane in canada. i dont care paying for more quality gaz in my fr-s.

It's pretty much the same gas, the rating system is just different

94 octane in canada is the same as 98 octane in aus. its just different countries have different ways to name/class the fuel.
