Plastic Engine Cover Question

Just wondering: I haven't seen any pictures to verify this, but are the newer cars with the red manifolds no longer shipping with the plastic
TOYOTA/D-4S/BOXER/SUBARU engine cover?

Nope, they have an aluminum intake manifold now. You couldn't find this? There has to be more...

Yes that's correct. They don't have the plastic covers no more.

Yes, I saw that picture. I was just wanting to verify that the plastic cover is no longer installed in the stock engines. For all I know, someone could have removed the cover to snap that picture.

Do you own one of the newer red manifold cars and can confirm this?

I see. Nope, I have a 2015 with the plastic manifold but have seen many 2017 and newer with the red one. No plastic cover on any of them as others have stated.

So to summarize:

N. America, AUS, JPN Models
2017 and up, manual transmission only, red aluminum intake = plastic engine cover delete
All other models = plastic engine cover

EU Models
2013 and up, all models = plastic engine cover.
(Note: No red aluminum intakes on any EU models)

Never stated it was a secret. I just searched and couldn't find anywhere in this forum that verified the information I was looking for.

Now it is, and now I know.
