I'm curious to know if anyone is using the STi Flexible Strut Tower Bar/Brace?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of the bar being flexible?

There is a ball joint underneath the STi badged black rubber in the middle of the bar.

Yes. I should be installing it later along with the Perrin MCB. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be installing any other suspension mods I have until after the winter here in the Northeast.

Nice find! But there are so many other options on market right now for strut bars at alot less money. Price is definitely gonna play a factor here at $384.49US Plus Shipping

I noticed how expensive it was. I ordered it 2 weeks ago. Just wanted a little STi bling and also to try something new "flexible."

Flexible sounds exactly like something you don`t want from a strut bar...

That's what I thought too but from what I've been finding it looks like there's an explanation as to why.

If this actually made it handle better than a solid bar, you would see race cars with bars like this instead of solid bars.

If your suspension towers are moving fore/aft, you've got much bigger problems than needing a strut bar.

I driven both solid and flex strut bars from STI (on Forester XT)

I may say they react pretty much same, giving sharper steering response and chasis solidness

the difference is when you drive on the harsh road with uneven surface - with the solid bar car tends to jump hitting a crack\hole\bump with both sides, even when the hole is at 1 side of the car

and driving with a flex one allows more vertical movement for each side of the car, leaving the other side in relative comfort, so as not bothering you with unnecesseary hit in the steering wheel

and concerning horizontal movements and corners - you will get the same stiffness from both bars

makes sense, probably absorbs the bounce on bad roads as it can flex, but when going side to side it will compress the rubber, which will act as a solid bar. smart
