Spent summers growing up on the family farm in eastern WA. Small valley with a creek running through it. Used to build little dams and catch brook trout with my hands, and later with hooks and lines, but I never owned a pole. They didn’t get much bigger than 10-12 inches. 2200 ft elevation. Frigid water. Best taste memories I have. Pan-fried with flour and butter and Johnny’s seasoning salt.

I had a nice little bass spot 1/8 mile from my house til some asshole illegally cast net the thing dry. He took 5 buckets of smallmouth, largemouth and peacock. I took his plate and made a complaint.
