But as we've seen with the model year changes already between the 2020 and 2021 3.0, I wouldn't doubt any surprises coming in the future regarding a manual. They already have a 6-speed in the sDrive20i. And BMW also offers a manual in their 2-series models as well. The ZF auto is great and faster, yes. But that's not the sole reason people buy sports cars. The 86 and MX-5 sell more manuals than automatics. Not sure about Porsche or BMW, but they're both still available in several models. Mustangs and Camaros as well have both regardless of their 0-60 or quarter mile times. Let's just hope Toyota's got a wildcard up their sleeves for 2022. |

Few years back, they did local event "Meet Everyday Driver crew and do cruise". Meet & Greet cost like $15~$20 plus cruise was like "$50! I just laughed at that. I'm like "I can use that money driving to SoCal have lunch with Moto-san or other legit gearhead ppl and get better time." Don't get me wrong, some reviewers will start drinking brand Kool-Aid. No matter how you look at it... but doesn't get this bad. Even Guff, he do reviews now and don't see him drinking that kool-aid... well, if he does, I'll def gonna fly to TX/IL to slap him lol |

As for the cost, I knew it and I was pissed to figure that price. In Japan, here are the price difference
RZ (3.0) - 7,313,000yen SZ-R (2.0) - 6,013,000yen SZ (2.0) - 4,995,000yen Now, engine we got in 2.0 is SZ-R, but the rest is pretty much SZ w very few RZ & SZ-R stuff. When we're not getting active suspension, e-dif and other legit parts, but price difference is $8k? That's just ridiculous. Toyota US fucked up good. |

With regards to the $43000 price for the 2.0 Supra that sounds fair to me. The 230i with "M Sport" package is $40000. In my opinion the extra $3000 is worth it for what would be a much sportier driving experience in the 2.0 Supra. |

See, it's all about what each one of us prefers. Obviously, you can spend 911-money adding options on the 718. So at what point do you just not get the model above it? It all depends on the person's preference (and bank account): Some will opt for a fully-loaded 718 at $100k, some will choose a base 911 for the same price. I was only comparing the inline-6 vs the 4-cylinder. (Now, as of this moment, it looks like Toyota is only going to offer a Tech Package for the 2.0 (JBL, Nav, etc.) Still, no braking or handling upgrade options to bring it up to the level of the 3.0...yet.) I personally have no interest in the 2.0 as I've spent a good time and effort upgrading my "thankfully it's a manual!" BRZ and going FI with more hp than the 4-pot Supra. Yes, the Supra is newer, it's a stiffer chassis, with greater tech and loads more torque, but if I'm gonna drop my 6-speed manual, it would only be worth it for the 3.0. Since you said "in my opinion", I'd take a base 3.0 vs a fully-loaded 2.0. |

At $43k I'm still mildly interested if it comes with a limited slip diff (no electronic control is fine). But getting a little on the $$$$ side for a sports car that is IMO pushing it on weight at just under 3200. 3.0 still out of the question for me at 3400 lb and >$50k...

The passive dampers on the 2.0 Supra are going to be easier to replace with aftermarket dampers. Passive aftermarket dampers will cost less and there would be no need to bypass an electronic damper system with special modules or tuning. Damper and spring upgrade would only be necessary for autox/track tires. I guess my ideal A90 would be the base 2.0 Supra equipment with the 3.0 engine. It would fill in the Supra line up nicely between the 2.0 and 3.0. Take $3000 off the price of the base 3.0. Give me the 6 cylinder engine, passive dampers, mechanical LSD, floating caliper brakes, manual seats, 4 speaker stereo, $46000. Quote:

$67,784 RZ +$12,050 $55,734 SZ-R +9,436 $46,298 SZ The big thing is I don't think the car will sell well at $42k. I know it is a luxury sports car, so the pricing is correct, but I just don't expect there to be much interest at that price. If someone is going to buy an expensive sports car then they probably want it to move and not just look fast. For that price, someone would probably just buy a luxury sport sedan and gain practicality. Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. Quote:
