Weathertech Floor Mats 1st Gen fits 2nd Gen?
Has anyone tested the 1st Gen Weather Tech floor mats in a 2nd gen? Would they fit maybe?

I saw someone post that they do fit, but I guess the only issue is they would still have the recessed area on the left (drivers side) for the fuel release - the new cars don't have a fuel release there, so the mat won't go "edge to edge" in that area.
edit: sent weathertech an email to ask when they will have the laser fit mats for the '22, will post back if I get any reply. |

Yes, based on this post, but taking into account the fuel release comment above.

You know, I didn't even think about the fuel release area. But I already had the mats, and didn't even notice that when I put them in.

Has anyone picked up the WeatherTechs for the 2022 BRZ and have any feedback on them?

They don't fit, but work...ish. I still have my gen 1 ones and they do not line up and can't be locked in place, but don't cause pedal interference so I'm still using them.

Recommending the oem Subaru all weather mats - they look nicer than weather tech, they fit and they're $52.
As a funny bonus, they even include two tiny ones for the back seat |

Wouldn't Husky ones work too? Only thing is the gas cover release is covered, but they have done the job for 2 years on mine without any problems. At a fraction of the cost.

As our BRZ purchase is roughly 12 months away, I hope in that time WeatherTech offers the floor mats and perhaps a trunk liner to fit. Right now I own three vehicles, none of them are listed on their site that they make anything for them.

Check TuxMats out; after receiving mine a few days ago they are definitely the way to go. They cover much more of the sides/foot wells than Weathertech liners do.

Woah! Why are these roughly triple the price of the Subaru all-weather mats? I can believe they are better, but triple the price is surprising...especially given that OEM branded stuff tends to be pretty expensive in general. |
