Oh, I didn't notice you were from San Jose - that explains it. -

I lived down there in San Jose for several years, back in the 60s, when the only technology company down there was IBM and Santa Clara Valley was mostly orchards.

Do you wear those socks out in public?

- whatever.

I've worked in a couple start-ups and my socks were pretty much the norm.

They're also a great conversation starter

I see. I just wear white socks.

- no problem matching then up

- they can be washed with underwear saving, water from a second load

- they "match" with whatever sweatpants or house slippers that I'm wearing

- my kids always know what to get me for a gift

HAPPY NEW YEAR - I got me a batch of new socks -

Finally received & put in the official Subaru Japan 2DIN adapters. This isn't much but it makes me happy :-)

Did a bunch of stuff over the holiday break.
  • Had the windshield replaced (@#$% giant rock chip/crack)
  • Oil change, tire rotation (time for new tires REAL soon...)
  • Sealed all the glass
  • Installed a TRD aero trunk cover (looks fly as hell, way more fiddly to install than I would have guessed)
  • Swapped OEM crash bolts for Whiteline/SPC camber bolts. We'll see if that gets me closer to -2°.
  • Swapped the chrome OEM badges for satin black ones. Definitely effed up the paint on the front bumper like a dumbass. But it needed repainted already anyway, so chalk it up to experience.
  • Installed the Velox throttle pedal kit. That's gonna take a little getting used to!
  • Oh, and some more sound proofing! Dynamax on the floors, some Thinsulate acoustic in the rear wheel wells, and a tiny bit of MLV over the lower part of the firewall. Significant difference in cabin noise!

Got all that done just in time to put my truck in the shop for some driveline issues.
