Changed my USDM exhaust tips for the JDM ones

So after reading this GR86 thread I pulled the trigger and ordered some for my 2020. This is the one I ordered and it came it much quicker than initially stated. Only took about a week to get here. The pic of the rear below shows the JDM on the left and USDM on the right. The pic below that shows how much shorter the USDM one is.

I always wondered why the tips were so much longer on the overseas models vs the really short tucked in ones on the North American models....

They were considered a tripping hazard in the US.

Only for the people who are staring at their phones and not paying attention to where they're walking....so the general population?

The tips are different in the United States to meet Federal Safety Standards with regards to front and rear bumper.

Per U.S. CFR § 581.5:

When impacted by a pendulum-type device at 2.5 m.p.h. followed by an impact into a fixed barrier longitudinally rearward at 2.5 m.p.h., the vehicle's exhaust system shall have no leaks or constrictions.

It's still a lot more tucked than the UE models though. On my -then completely stock- GT86, the tips actually stuck out of the bumper.

So it sounds like you're telling me I need to get some EUDM tips now. I like the JDM ones better than the USDM ones but they're still a little tucked for my taste. Ideally, they'd be flush with the bumper. Seems crazy there's so many variants.

Or you could have just gotten the Killer B extensions and put them where you want.

Here's what it looked like:

I'm pretty sure part of the difference is down to the backbox's rearward-facing pipes being shorter on USDM cars.
