I have a Panasonic 42" plasma from around 2008 that I paid $1,200 for. Until the new OLEDs came out, I'd not see anything that matched the deep blacks of the plasmas so I never wanted a new one. Now, I kind of want one of the OLEDs, but.... pretty attached to my ol Pani Plasma. We've seen some crazy sh**

A 4k HDR OLED from LG would be nice. We have the first gen OLED 1080P from LG. It's great. Also my laptop is an OLED. Annoyingly, my phone is LCD, which sucks in a dark room.

Note to self, don’t use metal filer for broken bolt. Let me explain. Drill the bolt thru, but the bolt wasn’t coming out, so thought to use metal filer to file down a bit more bolt. Instead it bust into the hole & refill that hole. Now I gotta redrill that hole w harder metal inside

A few months later, basic 720p models were maybe $600.

That being said, OLED is kinda the latest technology, but getting to the cheap stage. It's a middleground and there's not much more waiting to be done. I either buy one now or wait and end up lusting after whatever replaces it. It's a tough call. I've already been waiting years.
oled is still maturing. give it time.

i had one of the first autopage RS1000 2-way car alarms that had an oled display. after a year, it got so dim, i could barely see it. the organic part is the part that degrades the brightness.

i'm told they've improved it in tv's, but that it still needs some work. i prefer my tv's to be non-organic now.

They tip cows.

Don't know. Guess I will find out. With no pro sports in the state, I guess it's a big deal.

I saw an add in the paper that they have a shortage of bartenders for the luxury boxes at the home games. That could be fun. Work like 8 times a year.

We got our 55" OLED LG in 2016, 3 years ago, for $1200. The new ones have HDR and 4k, but from across the room, 1080p and 4k look the same. HDR? I don't have any content nor the bandwidth to stream HDR 4k. The TV is only one maybe 2-3 hours a week, so it hasn't degraded one bit. In no way do I regret getting that TV.

The OLED phone I used to use, a Nexus 6p, didn't degrade. My laptop screen hasn't degraded either, but then I've dropped it twice and had it replaced twice. Hehe. Damage warranty FTW!
