Just kick it really really hard
In all seriousness, you shouldnt have to, its just clips that go into the bumper should be easy.

I didn't do it this way but I'm thinking you can if you lift the front end high enough to comfortably work and remove the under panels. I think that would allow enough room to get in there to remove the screws and pop out the snaps.

I dremeled the tabs down even on the bumper since I had no plans of reinstalling the grille. Looks a lot cleaner this way.

When you take the grill out, you will see that there are little clip "nubs" that sort of look like teeth. (I guess) Anyway, I was not going to be happy unless I sanded them off and repainted the bumper. So, I reinstalled the grill.

Here is a pic...

If dremeled off cleanly, painting the bumper will not be required.

I'm pretty anal about my build so trust me when I say it will look fine... lol

Keep the grill! Not worth the damage to radiator/condenser.
If you want more air for cooling, dremel out the top part and get a beatrush bar or drift armor bar.

Thanks... I also polish a lot of my stock parts. I've done most of everything that is seen through the grille opening. Cheap aesthetic modification.👌

OP... If your 86 is a daily, removing the grille may not be the way to go. However, if it is a daily and you don't drive a lot of highway miles or country back roads I say go for it.

I took the grill and styrofoam out, painted beam flat black. Instead of shaving off the grill tabs left over, I masked and painted them black so you can't even see them. That way the grill can go back on in the future.

Nice car, but please tell me you retrofitted the stock lights to give a proper cutoff for those HID bulbs...

What? No it's not. Cheap headlights that shine in the eyes of drivers coming the other way is always irritating.

Especially irritating when our cars are already low even at stock height. I've noticed that Acura SUVs with those LED headlights always shine rightt into my fucking eyes, and I don't think its the driver's fault.
