First track day done!

Turns out those Carbotech 1521s aren't nearly up to task for a full track event. I've got XP10s on order, as well as new oil and a trans fluid flush. I'm past the break in interval for the new carbon synchros, so I'm swapping my break-in Redline fluid for Carbotech branded MTF. Then it's back to the track, and hopefully I'll remember to grab photos this time!

I haven't even had a chance to bed them in yet, but the stopping power is leagues better than my old Stoptech pads. Initial bite isn't great compared to my mental benchmark (Focus RS Brembos) but I've got a Grimmspeed master cylinder brace sitting on my kitchen counter ready to address that.

The clutch is still breaking in, but it's already confirming my belief that nothing lighter than ACT's Streetlite flywheel should end up on a street car. It'll get better as it breaks in, but hill starts with low torque, a lightweight flywheel, and a laggy electronic throttle are... interesting.

Next mod: seat time! Once the last of the snow melts up here, it's HPDE season.
the 1521s are nice but don't except them to hold up on track.

And they didn't, at all. Great street pad, but I cooked them at Palmer Motorsports Park a couple weeks ago. Turns out coming into turn one at 90 with no brakes isn't a fun time! Now I've got XP10s sitting in a box for the next event, fresh Synchrotech fluid in the transmission, and its' ready to head back out for some more laps.

Good call. I run xp10s and 8s in the rear. I swap between these and the 1521s as the other pads are terrible on street
