2017 GT86 2000gt edition Croatia/Europe

Hello!

I am new here, and just bought my first GT86... It is early 2017 model, but facelift (does not have a start button tho)... It has 35000km (about 21000m) For now it is stopck, but i plan on subtly modding it to my pleasure... For now i have ordered -35mm springs and 4-1 UEL manifold, pictures will follow the build, along with every mod I do

Mods in plan are 8x18 et35 wheels all arround with 225/40r18 rubber, CAI (made by me, sound delete), REMUS backbox, 200cell cat, custom system from header to backbox, superlight pulleys and flywheel, remap, and maybe a custom driveshaft, tints on back windows, risers for stock wing.

I am also in a process of making a track car from my 2005 Citroen C2 vts (unknown to US), so i'll post a few of those, or a link to IG page.

Nice to be here

Congrats on the purchase.

You won't regret it one bit.

Its a fun car.

What made you go for a 4-1 manifold? The power is mostly in the top end and better suited for a track car.

4-1 UEL, for the boxer rumble, and pretty much every test showing it flatens the torque curve, not hoping for max gains, just for a great allaround improvement. once i figure out how to post pictures, i will do that

Did not resist the "mod-me-little" syndrome for long...

ABT DR 8*18 et30... Coming this week, cant decide between 215/35r18 and 225/40r18, would not want to sacrifice performance, but would like to have more grip, rear end comes easily loose on the current michelins (some regular summer compound)

thinking of pilot sport 4 or saomething similar

You will be adding unsprung mass, so don't expect an increase in performance. Performance wise it will be worse than stock, since the ABT DR wheels are known to tip the higher end of the scale (the 19" version is almost 14kg - I would reckon the 18" version will top out at 12kg, but I might be wrong).

The changed ET will affect the scrub radius, making it positive --> slightly "heavier" steering feel.

IMHO, if you look for performance, either a 16" or 17" inch combo (PS4, Eagle F1 Assy5, Advan V105, Vredestein Ultrac Vorti,...) would be the better choice.

If you want to stick to 18" and not break the bank, look at Autec ClubRacing, ProTrack ONE, Fondmetal 9RR, OZ Ultraleggera, Motec Nitro and Superlight, ATS DTC,...

FYI. I drove a mate's Stage 2 tuned (UEL header, drop-in filter + tune) 86 with "heavy" 18" replica TE37 wheels and the car felt very lethargic compared to my setup (Desmond Regamaster 17" - 7 inch wide, 6.9kg per wheel).

I will weigh the wheels as soon as i get them, yes, i do believe they are 12kg each, but unfortunateley, for the moment i can not afford Ultralegerras (my no1 choice and have a setr of 17's on my other car) and these were 1/4 of the price of ultras. But i can not stand to look at this car on these awfull 16" wheels. Well, hoping for looks and not killing the perofrmance on the way, i'm building a track car from my previous car, and gt86 is perfect daily. now has crappy 205/55r16 on it, and it is awfull

I hear you, the stock 86/BRZ wheelset is really awful in the looks department

One more wheel to consider is the Autec Wizard. Reasonably light + similiar to the OZ UL design-wise (looks like a hybrid between the Super and Ultraleggera) + around 140-150€/wheel (including the TÜV homologation for our cars).

Just a couple of pictures of new wheels fitted. I think they suit the car well, should lower it in the future, just a bit, maybe -25 or -35mm all around.

The setup is
Wheels : ABT DR 8x18 et30
Tires : Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric5 225/40/18

sorry, the site is in Croatian, it's a local tool supplier. It is a 3,5 ton hydraulic floor lift, arround 2000€ for a basic model, photo taken at my local tire place/store
