OpenFlash Tablet Cable

I have searched and searched and I can't find a definite answer on what cable fits a Openflash tablet. I found links to this one but nobody answered back if it worked or not. https://www.amazon.com/Diageng-Profi...FC196439FPYY4S

are you talking about extending the cable that comes with the oft? If so this will work as it is an ODBII cable extension.

If you are talking about the cable that goes from the OFT to the OBDII port on your car that is most likely a proprietary cable that you can only get through shiv/openflash.

I was talking about from the obdII port to the OFT. I would like to get rid of that big klumpy cable

It's a proprietary cable. You can't replace it. You can use extensions though. It's a bad idea to plug and unplug your obd2 port continuously.

What about leaving the cable plugged in obd port but not connecting to the oft?

Hi all,

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I found something very interesting yesterday. The OFT plug isn't proprietary, and I found a way to source the connector. You can easily buy a right angle OBD2 pigtail (no end, just open wires), so that being said....... I should be able to make custom cables for the OFT.

It's possible that I could make nice braided cables if desired, similar to the ones you can have made for PC keyboards (the cable might be too thick to coil though). I could also probably put an in-line power switch to shut off the OFT so you can always keep it plugged in if desired, but it would take some design work on my part.

The price of the cable without any customizations or power switch would be about $25 for materials plus shipping costs (maybe $10-15ish to the lower 48?). If you wanted to give me a couple extra bucks for labor that would be kinda cool but not necessary atm since I'm looking for an excuse start this project.

Please let me know if you are interested and we can talk about it in greater detail!
