Installed a Tanabe Concept G exhaust

Big thumbs up for this exhaust. Nicely built and very lightweight. Manufacturer says 22lbs, but I weighed it at just over 19lbs. Sounds pretty good, not overly obnoxious. Cheap and easy to install, hard to beat IMO!

EDIT: Oh, and also plugged the empty exhaust hole with a cover from ft86speedfactory.

@justinco

I like your videos and I've subscribed to your channel. Keep at it man!

How much louder would you say this exhaust is over stock w/ header?

It is a good bit louder. I will have a new video on Monday with more in car driving sound.

I'm running mine with the tanabe overpipe & berk front pipe w/ cat, it sounds great. A little bit of drone but not comparable to when I was a running a uncatted header lol.

Are you running stock header? At my last race this weekend, a friend of mine told me my setup was loud AF lol. I don't think it is that bad, but I guess standing behind the car when I launch it is loud

Can confirm single exit "cannon" style exhausts are all very loud. My Greddy RS is very similar to the tanabe concept G but 3in so of course louder. the catback alone is very loud outside the car and with my headers it's very very loud. But you don't even know loud until you run it with headers and front pipe. Literally sounds like a legitimate race car screaming down the road haha

Stock header yes lol, I ran an uncatted header with the tanabe (front pipe & over pipe were stock) and it was VERY loud.

If I were to change my setup again, I'd do uncatted (or maybe catted) header with dual resonated front pipe. But I'm happy with the sound and improved throttle response as it stands.

What I'm currently running as you quoted, I don't think its too loud or obnoxious to daily. If you're happy with your setup and power, I'd just do a dual resonated front pipe to calm stuff down and eliminate most drone. The drone was too much for @ 70mph with an uncatted header.

Yea, if anything that is what I will do, just add another resonator. The one on the Tanabe front pipe is pretty short.

I'll see how loud it is on the sound meters at the next National race in a couple weeks

Thanks, she loves it! Keeps asking me to start her own YouTube channel for her, but I don't think I'm quite ready for that

She and my son just finished their junior autocross orientations and also got their junior racing licenses at local indoor karting (a'la K1).

I had this exhaust and loved it, until I got a catless UEL. Then it got crazy loud lol. Great exhaust otherwise, just a downside of single exits

Yea, my TRD exhaust on my FRS was much quieter and sounded awesome. This was with the same exact header and other parts. Too bad it is about 17lbs heavier 😐
