I'm not sure if this is something with my setup or just the car itself. My car is running RCE Yellow springs and 17x9 245's, rear spc lca's. My alignment is at -1 up front and -2 in the back. I'm not happy with my initial turn in feel when autox or spirited drives. It almost feels slightly delayed. Is this due to my wider tires? Electric steering?
The only other car I've ever driven aggressively was my old integra back in the day. It was immediate when I turned the wheel aggressively. |

Imho front camber is insufficient, but turn-in .. what are your front toe settings?

What kind of camber bolts are you using? Something like the Perrin steering rack lockdown does improve "feel" but you might be looking for more. Still nice. -2 is real good for a street car. - Andrew |

I'm using Whiteline bolts. I could get -1.5 out of the drivers side but only -1.0 from the passenger so I had both set at -1.0. I had a local shop set all this up.

One option is the Pedders offset strut top mounts that add a little caster and camber. I have not used them myself yet, but I plan to try them.

Depending on your budget, you might consider using two adjustable bolts per strut, adjustable top hats, coilovers, or offset strut mounts. At least in theory those offset mounts seem like a good idea, especially for a daily driven car, and together with camber bolts you should be able to get a good range of adjustability. I have to admit I haven't met anyone having non-adjustable strut mounts though. |

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to do some more research into the options you've given me. I think i'm gonna shoot to get my front camper to at least -2.0. Might pick up the Perrin Steering Rack Lockdown as well because why not? Not that expensive and easy to install.

oldlostcory: More camber as in for more front grip in turns (and less understeer bias) .. that will net less for initial turn in imho though. That perrin lockdown, why not, didn't notice much NVH illeffects, indeed cheap & simple enough to install .. then again, it didn't change much steering feel either. Toe (but wouldn't want toe out for street driven car, as while may make quicker turn-in, will also make less stable/more nervous steering)/what type of tires (eg. sidewall stiffness, slip angles)/pressures imho will affect turn-in more.
One thing is what tire sizing .. but what model of tires you are using? |

If your biggest complaint is turn in feel, rather than corner entry understeer, you'd probably be better off ditching the 9" steam rollers up front and get some sticky 215's instead.
Unless lap times are important to you, I don't see the need to over-tire the car for spirited drives and auto-x. |

Sounds like you want more front roll stiffness (which was probably relatively high in the old Honda) and aside from maybe front toe change you'll get what you want out of a stiffer front swaybar. Camber and steering rack bushings won't help the car take a set any quicker imho. RCE Yellows are too soft for competitive autox tires.
Dampers would be next on my hit list to tackle a lazy front end after toe and swaybar (assuming you plan on sticking with the RCE Yellows). Although still do the camber, your tires will thank you. |
