@mack4477 - fantastic results. I was wondering up top, where the WHP starts to drop off, is that intentional (easier shifts) or is the turbo out of steam up there?
I was personally thinking of a GTX30R, but wanted to right size things (match intercooler capabilities, with various pipe diameters and the staying in the good range for the turbo). Thanks. |

@king_tut and mack4477 - thank so much for your replies, its very helpful.
@king_tut - you mention a 2psi drop at top, was wastegate duty cycle maxed out? If so, have you considered using a stronger wastegate spring to see if it keep things shut at 8000 rpm? I usually assume pressure drop is due to something leaking (wastegate, BOV). The drop in power at same boost levels would be due to running out of the efficiency cycle of the turbo. I really would like the spool of the smallest turbo, that can make power using all the revs available to us (and not much more than that). did you guys consider asking for a twinscroll option? have the manifold go 4-2 or put a divider at the housing interface? thanks again!!! |

I really wouldn't consider running a 62 frame on such a small motor. I have a PT5858 CAE, ball-bearing in my 6 cylinder, 3.0 liter motor and its pretty well matched, but would I would think it it would be too laggy for a 2.0 liter even with our higher compression motors. |

I actually was considering switching to a pte 5858 bb sometime in the near future. My buddy has a gt40 on a 2.0l Honda and it makes useable boost at 4000rpm on a top mount manifold. I never understood why people talk about lag. Our cars are so short geared you'd be hard pressed to fall out of boost, and if they mean if you're on the highway and u punch it in 6th well most anything short of a diesel will lag that's y we downshift lol. Who races from 6th lol
